Ramba Ral is a seasoned Zeon officer in Mobile Suit Gundam (1979), known for his honor, combat prowess, and loyalty. Unlike many of his Zeon peers, he values his men and respects his enemies, notably Amuro Ray.
Piloting the experimental MS-07B Gouf, he nearly takes down the Gundam through sheer skill. His old-school warrior mentality contrasts with the war’s politics, making him one of the series’ more tragic figures. His famous line, “This is no Zaku, boy! No Zaku!” cements his legacy as a true ace of the One Year War.
