About Tape Lab
Welcome to #TapeLab—stay a while and listen. Founded in 2017 by lifelong friends, Tape Lab is a collective of artists and a hub for innovation, always open to collaboration. With the zeal of a self-published memoir, our sound is our own, but you can be the decider. We make music and art that sounds like it was fun to make and stands out in a sea of bland beats.
As independent artists for over a decade, Tape Lab has a vast catalog of music and art - over 700 international releases! We are always exploring new ways to expand our audience and find new creative outlets—especially with other undiscovered artists!
#TapeLab is currently based out of two headquarters in Durham, NC, and The Hamptons, NY.

It really is impressive that an underground group like Tape Lab has music that you can access alongside some of your other favorite music and bands. We’ve released over 700 songs across all major streaming platforms and consistently release new music throughout the year. Streaming platforms do not allow us to make edits directly to the songs once we have distributed them so you won’t get gaslit by liking a song only to find out later we have changed it minor ways and deleted the original (we call that “Lucas-ing” a track).
@TapeLabTV is our Official YouTube Channel and has hundreds of minutes of content to absorb. Music Videos, How-to Guides, and even behind-the-scenes looks at how we make the sound that we call music! Our live video content is as engaging as our music and we take considerable pride in having a great visual palette.

Tape Lab is a tape-based hybrid record label and band with a vast original catalog spanning music, videos, visual art, books, and immersive creative experiences. Founded as an independent platform for experimental releases and cross-disciplinary projects, Tape Lab operates at the intersection of analog culture, underground music, multimedia storytelling, and collectible art.
Tape Lab is recognized for its deep catalog, distinct world-building, and long-running commitment to tape-based media. More than a record label, it is an evolving creative universe—part label, part band, part archive, part art project. The work includes hundreds of songs, original video content, artist collaborations, physical releases, written works, and concept-driven experiences that extend beyond traditional music distribution.
